2024 BREAKWATER WOOD REGATTA
JY15 Women's Open One-Design

- ORGANIZING AUTHORITY
1.1 Breakwater Sailing Center and JY15 Fleet 2
- RULES
2.1 Racing will be governed by the 2021-2024 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) and the JY15 Class rules, except that any JY-15 sails will be permissible.
- ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 All entrants must have a helmsperson who identifies as female from warning to finish.
3.2 Crew may be any gender.
3.3 Only JY15's are eligible for this regatta.
3.4 Co-Skippering is permissible as long as both skippers identify as female.
3.5 Loaner boats are available. Advanced reservations strongly recommended.
- SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
4.1 Arrival, Registration, Rig Boats at 1300 hours (1:00 p.m.)
4.2 Skipper's meeting at 1400 hrs (2:00 p.m.) at Breakwater Sailing Center
4.3 First Warning Signal at approximately 1445 hrs (2:45 p.m.)
4.4 Awards Ceremony with snacks at Breakwater Sailing Center immediately following racing, approximately 1730 hrs.
- ENTRY FEE
5.1 $20 per boat
- COURSES
6.1 Courses will be determined by the Race Committee and announced on the water. All courses will be in the area north of Havens Beach.
- SCORING
7.1 The Low Point System will be used (RRS Appendix A). If six or more races are completed there will be one discard race. Every attempt will be made to have one crew race, scored separately, immediately following the last race of the regatta.
- PENALTY SYSTEM
8.1 RRS 44.1 is changed so that a Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by a One-Turn Penalty.
- SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
9.1 Sailing Instructions will be available at the skipper's meeting or by emailing sailingdirector@breakwateryc.org
- PROTESTS
10.1 A Protest Committee appointed by the Organizing Authority will decide protests. Protests will be heard at Breakwater Sailing Center after racing.
10.2 Decisions by the Protest Committee will be final as provided in rule 70.5.
