bycSummer Time BreakwaterBreakwater Yacht Club Inc. provides sailing education and racing experiences to residents of Eastern Long Island. It sponsors weekly races and instruction for children and adults.

BYC has now completed the building of it’s COMMUNITY SAILING CENTER and is ready to serve the growing needs of the area by providing stimulation and companionable sailing activities as well as instruction for adults and juniors.

BYC is a non-profit, non elitist organization which is reasonably priced and open to everyone with an all inclusive approach to membership.

BYC’s Wednesday night races often have 30 or more local boats on the starting line between May 1st thru October 1st providing exciting and varied courses for the novice or expert sailor.

Adult Sailing Program news: Two classes are scheduled for this year. Thursdays in July from 5:30 to 8:00 and Saturdays in August from 9:00 to 11:30. Space is limited so sign up early. Contact Laura White at 631 478-8385 or Laura@breakwateryc.org for more information.

AdventureSail® is a nationwide program of the Women’s Sailing Foundation, a 501© 3 organization, for at-risk young girls. Each event is tailored to the host facility. Our event is sponsored by the Town of Southampton and hosted by the Breakwater Yacht Club. Local At-Risk Girls between the ages of 10-15 serve as "crew members" on sailboats, and participate in a race in Sag Harbor. The race lasts approximately 1-2 hours. This type of activity exposes the girls to new sporting experiences and fosters self-esteem.
